My turn to be the doctor 😂
Becoming a doctor requires years of education, training, and dedication. Here’s a step-by-step guide to becoming a medical doctor (MD or DO):
1. Complete High School
- Focus on science and math subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics).
 - Maintain a high GPA.
 - Participate in extracurricular activities related to healthcare (volunteering, shadowing doctors).

2. Earn a Bachelor’s Degree (Pre-Med)
- Choose a science-related major (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry).
 - Complete prerequisite courses for medical school (Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Math).
 - Gain clinical experience through internships, hospital volunteering, or shadowing doctors.
 - Score well on the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test).

3. Attend Medical School (4 Years)
- The first two years focus on classroom-based learning (anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology).
 - The last two years involve clinical rotations in different medical specialties (internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, etc.).
 - Graduate with an MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree.

4. Pass Licensing Exams
- USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) for MDs or COMLEX-USA for DOs.
 - These exams are required to practice medicine in the U.S.

5. Complete Residency Training (3-7 Years)
- Specialize in a medical field (e.g., Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics).
 - Work in a hospital under supervision to gain hands-on experience.
 - Pass additional exams for board certification in your specialty.

6. Obtain Medical License
- Apply for a state medical license to legally practice medicine.
 - Continue professional development through Continuing Medical Education (CME).

7. (Optional) Complete a Fellowship
- If specializing further (e.g., cardiology, oncology), complete a fellowship after residency.

8. Start Practicing as a Doctor
- Work in hospitals, clinics, private practice, or research institutions.
